Kremikovtzi gas supply cut postponed by 48 hours

The suspension of gas supply to insolvent Bulgarian steel mill Kremikovtzi has been postponed by another 48 hours upon the request of the mill's assignee in bankruptcy Tsvetan Bankov.

The request to delay the gas cut aims to provide one last opportunity to keep Kremikovtzi's coke production running in order to allow the conclusion of negotiations for the purchase of the coke facility.

If the negotiations fail, the Bulgarian state-owned gas distributor Bulgargaz will cut its gas supply to the mill at 2 pm on May 14. The previous final deadline given by Bulgargaz to Kremikovtzi was 2 pm on May 12.

Meanwhile, the mass protests of workers at Kremikovtzi continue.
