South Africa-based ferrochrome producer Merafe Resources has announced its production results for the third quarter and the the first nine months of 2023.
In the third quarter, the company’s ferrochrome production totaled 40,000 mt, while in the January-September period this year its ferrochrome production fell by 21.3 percent year on year to 225,000 mt, due to unfavorable market conditions.
The company stated that only its Lion smelter operated over the winter season, a period of elevated power prices.
