Mercator signs 14-year iron ore shipping deal with Vale

SteelOrbis has learned that Indian dry bulk shipping firm Mercator Lines Ltd (Mercator) has signed a contract with Brazil's mining giant Vale to transport iron ore from Brazil to China over the next 14 years.

Mercator's US$175 million deal with Vale will begin in May 2009, and end in March 2023.
