The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their preliminary production results for the first half of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-June 2009 Metinvest iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) registered a 36.4 percent decrease in its concentrate production, but a 0.7 percent increase in its pellets output, both compared to the same period last year. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.104 million and 1.092 million.
During the first half of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 6.256 million mt of concentrate - down 13.4 percent year on year, and 3.754 million mt of pellets - down 34.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) during the period in question registered a 41.3 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output, to 4.335 million mt.
