The iron ore subsidiaries of the Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) have issued their preliminary production results for the first seven months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-July 2009 Metinvest iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) registered a 35.5 percent decrease in its concentrate production, but a 0.2 percent increase in its pellets output, both compared to the same period last year. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.489 million and 1.296 million.
During the first seven months of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 7.479 million mt of concentrate - down 11 percent year on year, and 4.691 million mt of pellets - down 30.6 percent.
Meanwhile, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) during the period in question registered a 36.5 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output, to 5.661 million mt.
