Mexican auto production, domestic sales up in September

Mexican output of autos in September rose 2.4 percent, year-on-year, to 285,344 units, the nation’s automotive industry association, AMIA, said on Thursday.
 
According to AMIA, Mexican exports and domestic sales in September increased 8.8 and 18.1 percent, year-on-year, to 235,612 units and 131,443 units, respectively.
 
As for the accumulated period of January to September, local auto production totaled 2.5 million units, 0.9 percent up, year-on-year.
 
Domestic sales improved 18.4 percent, year-on-year, to 1.1 million mt, while exports in the same period declined 1.5 percent, year-on-year, to 2.05 million units.
