Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, has added eight new Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers to the list of steel products that require automatic steel import notices, so the government can have a better statistics control on the steel imports coming to Mexico.

According to SE, the added products requiring such automatic steel import notices fall under the following new Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers: 7305.20.01, 7305.20.99, 7305.31.99, 7306.19.99, 7306.29.99, 7306.30.01, 7306.30.99 and 7306.61.01.

According to a media report, the referred products requiring automatic steel import notices include welded pipes as well as square and rectangular section tubes, which are used for water, gas and oil pipes and for buildings and structures as well.

SE’s resolution took effect Wednesday, one day after the resolution was published at the nation’s official gazette, DOF.
