Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, extended for five more years existing definite countervailing duties (CVD) already applied to the imports of steel plates from Russia, Romania and Ukraine, it said on Wednesday after concluding a probe.
According to SE, the five years will be counted from September 22, 2015. The products subject to the CVD currently fall under the following HTS codes 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01, 7225.40.01 and 7225.40.02.
Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian producers of those products will pay CVDs of 36.8, 60.1 and 67.6 percent, respectively.
According to a previous resolution from the Mexican government, steel plates from Russia and Ukraine with a boron content of 0.0008 percent or higher are also subject to the same definite CVD tariffs of 36.8 percent for Russian imports and 60.1 percent for Ukrainian imports.
