Mexico’s industrial output rises 1.8 percent in January

Mexico’s industrial output in January rose 1.8 percent, year-on-year, and 1.2 percent, month-on-month, according to the latest information released by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Industrial output in the mining segment in the first month of the year increased 1.4 percent, month-on-month, but declined 2.6 percent in the year-on-year analysis.

As for the nation’s civil construction segment, industrial output in January improved by 4 percent, month-on-month, and 4.5 percent, year-on-year. Industrial production in the manufacturing segment was stable in January with a slightly 0.1 percent decline, month-on-month, but registered a 2.2 percent growth in the year-on-year comparison.

Industrial output at the generation, transmission, distribution of electricity and related industries declined 0.5 percent in January, month-on-month, but rose 1.6 percent, year-on-year.
