Mexico’s industrial output rises nearly 1 percent in February

Mexican industrial output improved nearly 1 percent in February, year-on-year, according to data released on Monday by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Industrial production in February increased 0.8 percent year-on-year, but remained stable on the month-on-month comparison, with a slight 0.1 percent decline.

Industrial production at the mining segment fell 5 percent in February, year-on-year, and 0.2 percent, month-on-month.

Output in the civil construction and manufacturing industries rose 4 percent and 1.8 percent year-on-year, respectively, in February. As for the month-on-month analysis, industrial output at the civil construction segment in February declined 2.5 percent, month-on-month, but rose 0.5 percent in the same period at the nation’s manufacturing industry.
