Mexico’s industrial production declines in August

Mexico’s industrial output in August fell 0.8 percent, year-on-year, and dropped 0.4 percent, month-on-month, the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi, said on Wednesday.
 
According to Inegi, industrial production at the mining segment in August diminished 8 percent, year-on-year, and 1.7 percent, month-on-month.
 
As for the civil construction segment, industrial output in August declined 1.3 percent, year-on-year, and dropped 0.8 percent, month-on-month.
 
Opposing the declining trend seen in the other segments, production in the manufacturing industries in August rose 1.2 percent, year-on-year, and increased 0.2 percent, month-on-month.
