Mexico’s iron pellet output declines 16.3 percent in February

Mexican iron pellet output in February declined 16.3 percent, year-on-year, to 525,546 mt, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Mexican iron pellet production rose 2.6 percent in February on a month-on-month basis, Inegi said.

Inegi said the country’s mining and metals production index rose 0.2 percent in February, month-on-month, but declined 6.5 percent in the same month, year-on-year.

Mexico’s iron pellet production in cumulative period of January to February declined 21.1 percent, year-on-year, according to Inegi’s data.
