Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has announced that in May 2009 it exported 14,850 mt of rolled steel products, including 5,800 mt to non-CIS countries, and 9,050 mt to CIS countries.

In May 2009, MMZ carried out maintenance and reconstruction works in line with earlier scheduled investment programs. MMZ plans as soon as possible to completely empty its rolling mill stocks which consist of recently produced rolled products. The plant is expecting the arrival of a bulk quantity of scrap supplies, which will help it meet its 40,000 mt June 2009 production schedule.
