Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has announced that starting from June 22 its main production facilities have resumed the production of crude steel and rolled steel products.

Accordingly, on June 22 MMZ restarted operations of the electric arc furnace No. 2 in its electro-smelting shop, while on June 23 the plant resumed production of the rolling mill 320/150 in its rolling mill shop. MMZ's steelmaking facilities had been kept idle since late April this year due to a scrap shortage at the plant.

So far in June (up to June 24), MMZ has produced 2,556 mt of crude steel and 464 mt of rolled steel products.
