Iranian steel producer Mobarakeh Steel Company has announced that in the 31 days to May 21 this year the casting machine No. 5 at its steelmaking and continuous casting unit produced 125,000 mt of slabs, increasing by over 17,000 mt compared to the previous month and played an instrumental role in a record monthly production of 570,000 mt of slabs at the whole unit in the same period.
The company’s casting machine No. 5, which became operational on August 21, 2016, produces slabs in widths ranging from 900 mm to 2,000 mm and in thicknesses of 200 mm, 220 mm and 250 mm. The company plans to reach the machine’s nominal capacity of 2 million mt of steel per year in the near future.
Meanwhile, Mobarakeh Steel also stated that it plans to produce 7.2 million mt of crude steel at its steelmaking and continuous casting unit in the current 2017-18 financial year.
