MOC: Average finished steel price in China up 1.1 percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (February 22-28) the overall average finished steel price in China increased by 1.1 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of hot rolled strip, common medium plate and rebar in China increased by 2 percent, 1.9 percent and 1.1 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China increased by 1.8 percent week on week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) increased by 2.5 percent compared to the previous week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China declined slightly week on week. In particular, the average price of anthracite coal decreased by 0.4 percent week on week, while the average prices of thermal coal and coking coal remained stable week on week.
