NBS: China’s urbanization rate amounts to 56.1 percent in 2015

According to the data issued by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), as of the end of 2015 overall employed person in China amounted to 774.51 million, up 7.47 million compared to the figure recorded in 2012. In addition, in the 2013-2015 period China’s new employed person in cities and towns exceeded 39 million, with the annual new employed person exceeding 13 million in each year.

Meanwhile, in 2015 the urbanization rate amounted to 56.1 percent, up 3.53 percent compared to the figure of 52.57 percent recorded in 2012.
