NDRC: China’s crude steel output down 5.7 percent in January-February

In the January-February period of the current year, China produced 121.07 million mt of crude steel and 162.28 million mt of finished steel, respectively down 5.7 percent and 2.1 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on March 28.
 
In the given period, China’s finished steel exports amounted to 17.85 million mt, down 1.3 percent, while its finished steel imports totaled 1.86 million mt, decreasing by 8.4 percent, both year on year.
