New AD duty filing for HR flat steel imports into Turkey from three countries

Monday, 17 October 2016 15:30:17 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Speaking at SteelOrbis’ Market Talks meeting held in Iskenderun on Thursday, October 13, Erdemir Group marketing and sales director Hayati Kosoglu said that Erdemir Group and other Turkish flat steel producers have filed for an antidumping duty investigation against hot rolled (HR) flat steel imports from China, Russia and Ukraine.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in January  this year Turkey launched an antidumping duty investigation against HR flat steel imports from China, France, Japan, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine, but the investigation was terminated in April . The Erdemir Group official stated that they were disappointed by the low preliminary margins announced in January, especially 15.47-35.15 percent for China. He went on to say that they had preferred to withdraw their request for a duty investigation and to prepare for a better case rather than consenting to low margins.
