A strike at an Evraz steel mill in Camrose, Alberta came to an end on Friday when the company and the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union agreed on and signed a four-year contract. Evraz Camrose, which operates an ERW mill and a large-diameter pipe mill, locked out members of CAW on May 5. Local news reports quoted Evraz president Mike Rehwinkel as saying it was a "rough negotiation." The new contract includes both wage and pension increases and workers are anticipated to be back on the job Monday, May 28.
