According to a statement released on August 24 by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, new industrial orders in the European Union member states (EU-27) fell by 0.4 percent month on month in June, after a month-on-month increase of 0.5 percent in May.
On the other hand, in June this year new industrial orders in the EU-27, excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment for which changes tend to be more volatile, decreased by 26.7 percent year on year.
In the EU-27 in June, new orders for capital goods grew by 0.9 percent, new orders climbed by 1.6 percent for non-durable consumer goods, declined by 0.7 percent for intermediate goods and fell by 3.6 percent for durable consumer goods, all compared to May.
