New Iranian rolling mill to start production in May

Minoo Dasht rolling mill, a new private sector Iranian long steel producer with a designed annual capacity of 300,000 mt, is to be put into operation in May this year,  according to a statement issued by the local authorities.

The new mill, located on area covering 36 hectares near the city of Minoo Dasht in the northern Iranian province of Golestan, will be able to roll 8-28 mm rebars and 5.5-8 mm wire rods. The construction of the rolling mill started in 2004, with a total investment of Rials 500 billion (about $50 million) spent on the project to date.
