New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 11.6% in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 19.2 percent year on year to 111,000 units and were down by 11.6 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in January this year totaled 68,491 units, decreasing by 16.6 percent as compared to December and down 22.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 61.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in January increased by 18.1 percent month on month and were down 12.1 percent year on year, amounting to 25,147 units. Small truck registrations constituted 22.7 percent of total new registrations in January this year.
