New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 38.6% in Feb from Jan

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 0.8 percent year on year to 68,178 units and were down by 38.6 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in February this year totaled 39,217 units, decreasing by 42.7 percent as compared to January and up 3.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 57.5 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in February decreased by 55 percent month on month and were down three percent year on year, amounting to 11,315 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.6 percent of total new registrations in February this year.
