New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey drop 21.2% in July from June

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 36 percent year on year to 90,749 units and were down by 21.2 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in July this year totaled 54,620 units, decreasing by 26.2 percent as compared to June and down 36.9 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 60.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in July decreased by 1.3 percent month on month and were down 26 percent year on year, amounting to 14,772 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.3 percent of total new registrations in July this year.
