New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increase 5.3% in August from July

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 12.5 percent year on year to 95,558 units and were up by 5.3 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in August this year totaled 54,573 units, decreasing by 0.1 percent as compared to July and down 13.2 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 57.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in August increased by 6.4 percent month on month and were down 1.4 percent year on year, amounting to 15,720 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.4 percent of total new registrations in August this year.
