According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 18.4 percent month on month and went up by 4.0 percent year on year to 232,401 units.
New passenger car registrations in May totaled 89,419 units, up by 38.8 percent as compared to April and by 3.0 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 38.5 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in May amounted to 17,476 units, up by 25.6 percent month on month and by 9.8 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 7.5 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
