New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 29.6% in Dec from Nov

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 31.4 percent year on year to 125,611 units and were up by 29.6 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in December last year totaled 82,128 units, increasing by 45.8 percent as compared to November and up 40.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 65.4 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in December increased by 21.7 percent month on month and were up 43.9 percent year on year, amounting to 21,290 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.9 percent of total new registrations in December last year.
