New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 49.5% in Mar from Feb

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 4.2 percent year on year to 101,962 units and were up by 49.5 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in March this year totaled 59,836 units, increasing by 52.6 percent as compared to February and down 1.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in March increased by 40.4 percent month on month and were down 9.8 percent year on year, amounting to 15,890 units. Small truck registrations constituted 15.6 percent of total new registrations in March this year.
