Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel Corporation has announced that it will take additional measures for operations in the areas designated within the scope of the Japanese government’s state of emergency declaration in the capital Tokyo and six other prefectures in order to tackle the rapid spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

These measures affect the company’s head office in Tokyo, its office in Osaka, the Kyushu marketing branch in Fukuoka, some R&D laboratories as well as East Japan Works’ Kimitsu Area (including Tokyo Pipe & Tube Div.), Kansai Works’ Wakayama, Osaka and Amagasaki Areas, Setouchi Works’ Hirohata and Hanshin Areas, and Kyushu Works’ Yahata Area.
