NMDC’s iron ore output up 13.2 percent in April-July

India's state-owned miner National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has announced that in the first four months of the financial year 2016-17 (started April 1) it produced 9.55 million mt of iron ore, registering an increase of 13.2 percent year on year. The company's iron ore sales in the given period amounted to 10.2 million mt, rising by 9.8 percent year on year.
 
During the first four months, NMDC's iron ore output from its Karnataka mines amounted to 3.71 million mt, down 2.2 percent, while the iron ore output from its Chhattisgarh mines increased by 21.6 percent to 5.84 million mt, both year on year.
