Odisha government notifies land acquisition for AMNS steel mill project

The government of the eastern Indian state of Odisha has issued notification of land acquisition for the proposed 24 million mt per year capacity greenfield steel mill project proposed to be constructed by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel Limited (AMNS), government sources said on Monday, July 29.

Last year, AMNS committed an investment of $4.59 billion to establish the steel mill.

As per the notification, around 1,281 acres of land would be acquired by the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) of the Odisha government, to be handed over to AMNS for construction of the steel mill, the sources said.
