Composite leading indicators (CLIs), designed to anticipate turning points in economic activity relative to trend, point to stable growth momentum in the OECD area as a whole, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has stated. In June this year, the CLI for the OECD area remained almost stable month on month at 100.0, recording a decrease of 0.38 percent compared to June 2014.
In June this year, stable growth momentum is expected in Germany, Japan and India, while the CLI for Russia also points to stable growth. On the other hand, CLIs point to growth in a long-term trend in the US and the UK with tentative signs of a loss in growth momentum in Canada. In the given month, in Italy, France as well as the Euro area as a whole the CLIs show a firming growth, while in Brazil and China the CLIs point more strongly compared to the previous month to a loss in growth momentum.
