OMK’s ATZ issues H1 production data

The Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced the production results for the first half of 2009 of its Tatarstan-based subsidiary Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (ATZ).

Accordingly, in H1 2009 ATZ's total pipe production amounted to 64,866 mt - up seven percent compared to H2 2008, while its shipments amounted to 67,562 mt, showing a 20 percent increase compared to the second half of last year.

In June 2009, ATZ produced 12,909 mt of pipes, and delivered 13,400 mt.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in the first half of 2009 ATZ mastered the production of 180 х 180 mm, 200 х 160 mm, 15 х 15 mm and 140 х 60 mm profile pipes with 1.5 mm to 6.0 mm wall thickness. ATZ commenced its production of profile pipes in 2001 and to date has developed a total of 32 sizes of this product.
