German plantmaker SMS Siemag has announced that Finland-based stainless steelmaker Outokumpu Stainless has ordered a heat treatment line for flexible and energy-efficient heat treatment of stainless steel plates.
The new equipment will come into operation in 2013, allowing Outokumpu Stainless works in Degerfors, Sweden, to boost its production of heat-treated plates and improve the product quality.
SMS Siemag will supply two heat-treatment furnaces specifically tailored to the wide product portfolio of Outokumpu Stainless. The furnaces will be capable of heat-treating plates with a maximum length of 16 meters.
