Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 39.2 percent in February

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 276,848 mt in February this year, increasing by 2.9 percent compared to January and up 39.2 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in February was $87.3 million, decreasing by 12.7 percent month on month and up 25.8 year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in February amounted to 290,131 mt, up 6.9 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 46.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the given month, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $168.2 million, decreasing by 1.5 percent month on month and up 25 percent year on year.
