Pakistan’s scrap imports down 14.4 percent in June from May

Pakistan’s scrap imports amounted to 216,809 mt in June this year, down by 14.4 percent compared to May and by 6.6 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in the given month was $98.39 million, down by 13.2 percent month on month and up by 62.4 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s iron and steel imports in June amounted to 260,358 mt, down by 6.9 percent on year-on-year basis and up by 20.3 percent compared to the previous month. In the given month, the value of Pakistan’s iron and steel imports was $174.91 million, moving down by 15.5 percent year on year and up by 6.6 percent month on month.
