Friday, 12 July 2024 13:40:05 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

The Philippines-based steel producer SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation has in recent days inaugurated its Cebu plant in Compostela, which has an annual production capacity of 1 million mt of high-strength rebar.

The company has already produced its first steel bar as the plant enters the final phases of commissioning, as SteelOrbis previously reported. SteelAsia’s annual domestic rebar capacity at its all mills is now at three million mt, compared to two million mt last year.

In addition, SteelAsia plans to build four new production facilities on Luzon and Mindanao islands in the next two to three years to diversify its product range by producing steel products that are not currently manufactured in the Philippines such as H-beams, I-beams, wire rod, sheet piles and billets, as SteelOrbis reported earlier.
