Primetals Technologies to supply new mill for Yongxing Special Steel

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that it will supply a new combination bar, bar in coil, and wire rod mill to the Chinese steelmaker Yongxing Special Stainless Steel Co. (Yongxing Special Steel) for its plant in Huzhou, China. The new combination mill will produce 250,000 mt per year of stainless valve steels, nickel-based alloy steel and several stainless grades, including austenitic, ferritic, dual phase and hardening steels, to meet the growing demand for higher grade stainless steel products for application in the aerospace, energy, medical, automotive and petroleum industries, among others.
 
The new mill will start production at the beginning of 2017 and will run at 62 mt per hour with a maximum speed of 80 meters per second, producing straight bar with diameters of 30-130 millimeters, bar in coil of 14-40 millimeters, and wire rod with diameters of 4.5-16 millimeters.
