UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that Indian state-run steelmaker Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has ordered a hot-blast stove for its blast furnace No. 5 at its subsidiary IISCO’s steel plant in West Bengal. Primetals will undertake the design, supply and installation of the project.

The new hot-blast stove, which will be the fourth addition to the existing ones at the blast furnace in question, will allow IISCO to repair current stoves without interrupting steel production or its efficiency.

The installation of the new stove will last 17 months. Upon completion, the company will benefit from the operational advantages of using four stoves.
