Russia issues Jan-July 2009 output results

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in the first seven months of 2009 the country registered a 14 percent decrease in coal mining output and a 19.5 percent reduction in iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 161 million and 50.7 million.

In addition, during the same period Russia produced 14.8 million metric tons of coke - down 28 percent, 27.6 million metric tons of finished steel products - down 25 percent, and 3.4 million metric tons of steel pipes - down 29.5 percent, all compared to January-July 2008.
