Russian steelmaker MMK Group has announced that its output of hot dip galvanized metal at its sheet rolling shop No. 11 hit a new production record in May this year.

Accordingly, in May MMK produced 38,014 mt of galvanized rolled metal at its sheet rolling shop’s galvanizing unit, exceeding the previous record achieved in August 2013 by 1.5 percent. The galvanizing unit has a designed annual capacity of 450,000 mt and was commissioned in July 2012 as part of the cold-rolling complex. Besides a galvanizing unit, the complex includes a continuous pickling line for turbulent pickling in hydrochloric acid combined with a five-cell cold rolling mill with an annual capacity of 2,100 mt and a combined continuous annealing/hot dip galvanizing unit with an annual capacity of 650,000 mt, SteelOrbis has learned.
