Russia’s stainless steel imports up 21.4 percent in August from July

In August this year, Russia’s stainless steel imports totaled 53,292 mt, up by 21.4 percent compared to the previous month and by 34.4 percent year-on-year, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association.

In the given month, in terms of volume, Russia’s imports from China accounted for 55.4 percent of total imports. Other top sources of imported stainless steel include India with 31.6%, Indonesia with 6.7%, Turkey with 2.5% and Slovenia with 1.5%.
