Scrap increases further on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from March 7 to March 13, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes continue to move upwards. In the given week, the Turkish rebar index maintained its upward movement and the Turkish flat rolled indexes also followed an upward trend.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from March 7 to March 13 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index maintained its upward movement. The index value increased by 7.33 percent to 84.04 compared to the previous week.
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index moved upwards, with the index value rising by 7.85 percent week on week to 96.94.
   
Turkish Rebar Index increased by 11.76 percent to 89.7 compared to the previous week.
  
Turkish HRC Index rose by 19.58 percent to 69.51 compared to the previous week.

Black Sea HRC Export Index continued its upward movement, with the index value increasing by 8.7 percent week on week to 59.24. 
    
Turkish HDG Index continued to increase, with the index value rising by 18.59 percent to 84.54. 

Turkish CRC Index increased by 17.02 percent week on week to 78.34 percent.   
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
