Scrap maintains rising movement on Orbis Steel Index

In the week from April 11 to April 17, on the Orbis Steel Index the scrap indexes moved upwards for the eighth consecutive week. In the given week, the Turkish rebar index continued to increase, while Turkish flat rolled product indexes indicated upward movement.
 
As per the Orbis Steel Index data, the index movements in the week from April 11 to April 17 as per product are as follows:
 
Turkish Scrap Index increased by 5.38 percent week on week to 107.09. 
   
US (East Coast) HMS I/II Scrap Export Index continued to increase in the week in question. The index value rose 9.38 percent week on week to 123.53. 
   
Turkish Rebar Index rose 2.29 percent week on week to 107.67, marking the fourth consecutive week of rising movement.
 
Turkish HRC Index maintained its rising trend in the given week. The index value rose by 0.33 percent week on week to 72.13.  
 
Black Sea HRC Export Index continued to rise, with the index value increasing by 0.22 percent to 77.65 compared to the previous week.  
    
Turkish HDG Index maintained its upward movement in the given week. The index value rose by 1.55 percent to 82.65 compared to the previous week. 
 
Turkish CRC Index moved upwards again this week, with the index value increasing by 4.47 percent week on week to 80.14. 
 
*Explanations:
 
Turkish Scrap Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of domestic ferrous scrap purchased weekly by Turkish steel mills, and imported HMS 80/20 CFR Turkey.
 
Turkish Rebar Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality deformed steel reinforcing bars produced and sold by Turkish mills and subsequently merchants, both in the domestic market on ex-warehouse basis and for export on FOB Turkey basis.
 
Turkish HRC Index: based on the weighted average of prices published by SteelOrbis of commercial quality HRC produced or imported, and then sold by Turkish mills on ex-warehouse basis.
