Severstal SMC Kolpino, a St. Petersburg region-based steel service center subsidiary of Russian steelmaker Severstal, has announced that it has started to fill the order for the production of welded sections for the construction of the "Western High Speed Diameter" highway in St. Petersburg. The first batch of welded sections for this project will amount to 130 mt.

Deliveries for big infrastructure projects in the St. Petersburg region are also being carried out by other Severstal subsidiaries. In particular, Severstal Cherepovets is supplying steel products for the reconstruction of St. Petersburg's Mariinsky theatre, the construction of the St. Petersburg flood prevention facility complex and of the fourth reactor at the nuclear power plant in Sosnovy Bor. The deliveries in question exceed an annual volume of 30,000 mt of steel products. Deliveries of Severstal Cherepovets' products for the construction of a new business center, Okhta Center, in St. Petersburg, which will include the first super-tall skyscraper in the city, will be performed through steel trading companies.

In addition, Severstal's trade house Severstal-Invest is also taking part in projects for the construction of the "Western High Speed Diameter" highway and of Zenit's football stadium. The first delivery was made in February 2009, while the monthly orders amount to 1,000 mt of steel products.
