Shandong Province targets to improve air quality by 50 percent in 2020

Shandong Province’s Department of Environmental Protection has released an action plan on air pollution control over seven cities including Jinan, Zibo,Tai’an, Laiwu, Dezhou,Liaocheng and Binzhou to improve air quality. Accordingly, Shandong Province requires that the seven cities in question should target to improve air quality by 35 percent in 2017 compared to that of 2013, while to improve air quality by 50 percent in 2020.

In particular, from every November to January of the following year, steel enterprises in the seven cities in question will be ranked according to pollutant discharge and those who cannot meet the discharge standard will be forced to stop production to make sure air quality.
