SMS to supply new wire rod mill complex to Guangdong Guoxin Industrial

Germany-based plantmaker SMS Group has announced that it will supply a new wire rod mill complex to Chinese company Guangdong Guoxin Industrial Co. Ltd. The new complex will be built in the Sino-German Development Zone in Jieyang in Guangdong Province, with production scheduled to commence in 2017. 
 
The new plant will include two one-strand high-speed mills which will produce wire rod in diameters from 5.5 mm to 25 mm and rebar in diameters between 6 mm and 14 mm. The mills will be designed for an annual capacity of 1.4 million mt, 700,000 mt per year per mill. The steel grades to be rolled will comprise cold-heading, alloyed, spring and stainless steels as well as tire cord and welding wire.
