South Africa’s base metal export value up 2.6 percent in January

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in January this year the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 10.25 billion ($652.13 million), up 2.6 percent from December 2015. 
 
In January of the current year, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 5.4 billion ($347.3 million), increasing 30.5 percent from December.
