South Korean billet exports rise by 145 percent in Jan-May

In May this year South Korea exported 134,000 mt of steel billet. In addition, in the first five months of the year its steel billet exports totaled 430,000 mt, climbing by 145 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year.
 
In the January-May period, South Korea's steel billet exports to the Philippines came to 192,000 mt, while its exports to Bangladesh amounted to 132,000 mt. Other destinations to which South Korea exported steel billet in the given period include Vietnam with 45,000 mt, Hong Kong with 30,000 mt, Taiwan with 18,000 mt, Sri Lanka with 10,000 mt and Japan with 7,000 mt.
